Our Mission

We believe every child deserves to feel strong, capable, and comfortable in their own skin.

When our founder, Katie, was at school she felt as if there was always something missing from her PE and PSHE lessons. She felt that if you weren't 'sporty', then movement and exercise weren't for you...and that's SIMPLY NOT TRUE!

The way that nutrition was taught was also very vague, an Eat Well Plate and that was it! There was never the teachings of how that can be personalised, what each nutrient was for and how energy balance even worked.

...and that's where Based in Strength comes in!

Through our workshops, we aim to:

Educate children on how their bodies work, from metabolism and movement patterns to energy and recovery.

Promote body confidence by encouraging self-acceptance and celebrating what every body can do.

Dispel harmful myths around fitness, food, and body image, helping reduce the risk of toxic diet culture taking root.

Show that exercise can be fun, accessible, and inclusive, not just about competitive sports.

Teach proper form and foundational movement skills so they can move safely, confidently, and efficiently.

Encourage a positive relationship with movement and food by fostering curiosity, balance, and self-trust instead of fear or pressure.
